Collaboration
This concept has two parts. First and foremost is the collaboration between you the Client (s) and us, the firm. We listen, first and foremost. We learn your goals, your visions, and your dreams. No matter the project, the scope of work or the size of the project. This is your vision and we are here to provide experience, education with historical and new experiences to bring to the process of realizing your vision to a successful completion.
Team Approach
The journey begins when you ask us to be a part of your TEAM. Each project starts with a need, more often a site, or help with selecting a site, imagery of what the results will look like to some degree, quite often photographs and examples ,or related images, which we welcome, a schedule and a budget. This now includes the second part of the Collaboration. This includes the team of professional consultants civil engineering, structural engineering, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering, interior designers, landscape architects, land planning firms, along with a myriad of specialist as per the project program such as IT, security, sustainability, and general contractors to name a few.
The years of experience, that Don Eckols, Architect brings is one that is unique in that for years, my job description was that of Business Development for large firms. This entailed the compilation of just about every conceivable consultant it takes to create a complex building or buildings or residential into a viable team. My corporate experience was that of competing for Request for Qualifications and would be competing for projects ranging from multi millions of dollars for Higher Education campuses to additions to a municipal building in Liberty hill, Texas. I know the consultants and contractors in Central Texas for every need and can make the decision to compile the appropriate team members needed for the specific needs to that project. This is the second part of the collaboration aspect of being flexible in team building. If it be a residence or a new Healthcare facility.
Communication and Commitment
From that first meeting, walking the site, watching a sunset or sunrise on the site, to assisting with the move in of the new building, we are committed to the successful completion of your project or home. Don Eckols, Architect works with the team through the latest in viable appropriate communications IT and platforms. Be it Zoom meeting, the General Contractors software for tracking schedules, meetings and budgets and requests for payments from the client, we document, document, and then document and we communicate. Sometimes there are occasions when this is not always an easy conversation, but we do anyway. Years of experience has taught me; stress is created by unmet expectations. We do our utmost to achieve balance and transparency throughout the entire process. I have learned from my mistakes and made the amends where required. Fortunately, I have several repeat clients, lasting relationships, and respect from my peers.
